The official Museo Nacional del Prado app
The challenge
The Prado Museum needed an official app to accompany visitors before and during their visit: browsing works, exhibitions and services, finding their way around the galleries and enjoying the collection without barriers, whatever their language or abilities.
What I did
- From brief to prototype. I designed and prototyped the app in Figma, from the initial brief to a working prototype built in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Usability and navigation. Intuitive navigation from the tours (the collection, “The Prado in one hour”…) to each artwork’s page, with audio guide, and to the interactive museum map.
- Accessibility and inclusion. A design built on inclusive principles, with content in six languages and accessibility options on the tours.
- Phone and tablet. An interface adapted to both formats, with a restrained look that gives the artworks centre stage.
Outcome
- A digital experience that enriches the visit before and during the physical tour of the museum.
- Technology aligned with the cultural and historical value of one of the world’s great art museums.
