Digital communication and Smart City inventory platform
The challenge
Alcalá de Guadaíra was launching its Smart City from scratch. The council needed two things: to keep the information residents see on the kiosks and information stations up to date, and to keep track, from day one, of the hundreds of devices being installed across the city (their location, status and warranties).
What I did
- Kiosk content. I managed and published local information on the 3 kiosks and 2 browsing stations myself during the first phase.
- Training. I trained the council’s communications team so they could run this channel on their own.
- Inventory platform, end to end. I designed the interface in Figma, built it in React, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS, and developed the TypeScript API behind it.
- From overview to detail. A searchable, paginated list with colour-coded status indicators, and a record for each device with its type, location, NFC and UHF identifiers, and installation and warranty dates.
Outcome
- The Smart City’s hundreds of devices, inventoried and searchable in a single tool from the moment they were deployed.
- The council’s communications team publishes content on its own, without relying on San2.
- Platform in use since 2024.
